Over the years, Paul Gilbert has been indirectly responsible for the slow, but steady death of my refrigerator through "Repetitive refrigerator door impact syndrome". This is a fairly new, but still unrecognised phenomenon, which must now be recognised by the erstwhile medical profession. Let me tell you my story…
It all started back in 1988 with the previously mentioned Guitar World transcription of "Scarified" (see front page). A rather misguided and foolish belief that I might actually be able to play this piece led to incredible frustration culminating in the aforementioned repetitive refrigerator door impact, of my foot.
Twiddle twiddle kerchung..... Ooof, take that refrigerator..... Twaddle twaddle kaplank.... Hey fridgey baby, meet my foot.... and so on....
But it didn't stop there, oh no! Terrifying guitar 101, Paul's column in Guitar Player magazine? The refrigerator locked the kitchen door and made me use the 7-11... Intense Rock I and II, two of Paul's instructional Video's? and it was all set to leave me. The taking the bottles of milk, packing up and walking right on out the door kind of leaving.
I could only finally pacify my refrigerator by starting to learn Eddie V** H**** songs!
We now live in a state of peace love and harmony.
EVERY WORD OF THIS IS TRUE.. HONEST!!!!
